
New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday announced a relief package of Rs 6,28,993 crore to support the Indian economy in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the measures announced by the Finance Minister will help in stimulating economic activities, boost production and exports and generate employment.
PM Modi said- “Importance has been given to help our farmers. Several initiatives have been announced which reduce their cost, increase their income and support greater resilience and sustainability of agricultural activities. Huh.”
He also outlined the measures taken for health care, health facilities for children, farmers, small entrepreneurs and self-employed persons. In a series of tweets, the Prime Minister said the measures announced would enhance public health facilities.
PM Modi further said, “Further support has been announced for our small entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals, so that they can sustain and expand their business activities. Including financial assistance to help those involved in tourism. Several initiatives are being taken.” The measures will help in stimulating economic activity, boosting production and exports and generating employment. The PM said that the result-linked power distribution scheme and streamlined processes for PPP projects and asset monetization reflect our government’s continued commitment to reforms.
