NALCO will invest 30 thousand crores in next six years

New Delhi: Union Coal and Mines Minister Pralhad Joshi said today that National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO) will invest Rs.30 thousand crore by the year 2027-28 on business expansion plans.

Addressing a function organized on the company’s 41st Foundation Day at Nalco’s headquarters in Odisha’s capital Bhubaneswar, Mr. Joshi said that the proposed investment amounted to about Rs. 7,000 crore at the Fifth Stream Refinery, Pottangi Bauxite Mines and South Block and Utkal D&E. Expenditure will be incurred on transportation system of bauxite transportation from coal mines.

In addition, 22 thousand crores will be spent on the smelters, expansion of power plants and the expansion of the company’s smelters in Angul district. A 1,400 MW power plant will be set up at the company’s smelter plant in Angul district of Odisha.
