New Delhi: The central government has asked the social messaging app Whatsapp to withdraw the changes in its privacy policy. The government says that such a unilateral change is not right and cannot be accepted. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has written a letter to the CEO of WhatsApp regarding this.
The ministry wrote a letter to the CEO of WhatsApp and said that there are the most users of WhatsApp in India. It is one of the largest markets in the world with the services of WhatsApp. WhatsApp also clarified a few days ago about its new privacy policy that it does not have access to the mutual interaction between the users and does not listen to the calls of Facebook and WhatsApp users.
WhatsApp has changed its terms and services and privacy policy which was to be implemented from 8 February 2021. However, now it has been extended for three months i.e. until May 15. Questions have been raised about this change in the letter sent by the ministry. The ministry has asked for the withdrawal of the changes. Apart from this, information privacy, freedom of choice and data security have been asked to think once again.
