New Delhi. Expressing concern over the Indian economy, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that the recession has affected Maharashtra. Auto Hub is badly affected. Every third person is unemployed.
He said that today Maharashtra is number one in the case of farmer suicides. Investors are shifting to states other than Maharashtra.
Let me tell you that even last month, former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh had expressed concern about the economy. He had said that the state of the economy in the country is continuously deteriorating, but the government is not at all serious about it. To what extent the situation may worsen in the coming days, the government does not even realize it. He said that the government should take necessary steps in this direction immediately.
Manmohan Singh said that the growth rate in the country has come down to five percent. It reminds me of 2008, when the economy had come down drastically during the UPA government.
