Ambani said in the AGM that he is delighted to announce that JioAirFiber will embark on the bright occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on 19th September. This will provide another opportunity for customer value and revenue growth in the unexplored home segment of India.
Jio AirFiber has been created to be a straightforward plug-and-play solution. It will make it more user-friendly and accessible to customers. On the other hand, if you compare Jio AirFiber with Jio Fiber then it usually requires professional installation set-up. This information was shared by Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd Chairman Akash Ambani at the AGM.

So, if you are unaware of what is Jio AirFiber all about, then let us tell you that Jio AirFiber is a fixed wireless access solution that brings high-speed internet connections. It provides fiber-like internet speed over the air without any wires. The users will have to plug it in, turn it on, and then they can enjoy the personal Wi-Fi hotstop in their homes.
Several devices such as PCs, tablets, smart TVs, smartphones, and set-top boxes can be used to connect at the same time without having to lower or compromise on the speed of the internet. Jio AirFiber comes with features such as parental control, Wi-Fi 6 support, and a combined security firewall.
Don’t confuse AirFiber to be similar to Jio Fiber. Both are completely different. The Jio AirFiber is a wireless internet speed and it is not like Jio Fiber, which utilizes optical fiber cables for connectivity. It provides an internet speed of 1.5 gigabytes per second which is more compared to the 1 GB per second offered by Jio Fiber, according to a report on Mint. The speed of AirFiber is dependent on the tower’s proximity.
As of now, Jio Fiber is not available all over the nation. Jio AirFiber’s wireless technology allows it to provide comprehensive coverage, thus overcoming the obstacles of the physical infrastructure.
As per a report on Mint, Jio AirFiber is estimated to cost approximately Rs 6,000 due to the inclusion of a portable device unit. As there is a portable device unit, it could be a little more costlier than a standard broadband network.
In a nutshell, Jio AirFiber means it delivers fibre-like speed over the air without any wires. One just needs to plug it in, turn it on, and that’s it! It means you will have a personal Wi-Fi hotspot in your home or place that is connected to ultra-high-speed internet connection using True 5G. You can easily connect your office or home to Gigabit-speed internet using Jio AirFiber. This is a novel method of Jio to provide wireless internet service using 5G technology to deliver high-speed internet access.
