Narayan Murthy, the founder of Infosys has plans to recruit professionals and double its investment of $1 billion in the coming five years. This will support India to become one of the high-quality manufacturing hubs. Catamaran Ventures LLP which began its operations in 2009 will raise its assets under management to approximately $2 billion and is looking for partnership opportunities in 3 upcoming areas like deep tech, precision engineering and manufacturing, and renewables. This will help the company to shift from its earlier focus on services.

How to make smart investments even amidst market volatilities

Narayan Murthy has assisted in making Infosys the country’s national champion with the idea of outsourcing technology services. Akshata Murty, the daughter of Narayan Murthy and wife of UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is presently the director of the company’s investment division which is a different firm based in the UK.

Catamaran Ventures, located in Bengaluru has a staff of 15 employees in India who look after the areas such as e-sports, insurance, and Elon Musk’s Space Exploration Technologies Corp. Manufacturing is said to be the country’s next stage of growth and the benefit for India is about innovation being tested in India for scale and then taken to the worldwide markets.

To support this strategic growth strategy, Catamaran Ventures will actively look for partners in order to create a business in the sub-areas it chooses and also add four specialists to its team of investment professionals. It is also searching to close a minimum of one such partnership in the coming months. 

Narayan Murthy’s company earlier tied up with Amazon.com Inc in order to develop Prione Business Services, which started by assisting merchants to get online for selling their wares before emerging as a dominant player in the market. The company also plans to support early and late-stage startup companies. As per its website, Catamaran Ventures has also made investments in the social network Reddit and the National Stock Exchange.

Murthy’s idea to double the investments of Catamaran Ventures is a sign that the Indian economy is growing and has a lot of potential for Indian businessmen. With Murthy’s support, companies like these are well-set to be successful and make a real difference in the globe. Companies that are disrupting traditional businesses and creating new markets are also one of the investment opportunities considered by Murthy.
