People who have lost their job owing to the coronavirus lockdown can have a sigh of relief.
As the central governemnt has extended the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana (ABVKY) till 30 June 2021 for the registered workers under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.
The central government has also added some more relaxations and benefits to ABVKY.
As per the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana, employees who lost their jobs during the lockdown can get 50% of their wages for up to three months as unemployment relief even if they have got another job or have started to work again.
The government has also decided to increase the rate of unemployment relief under the scheme to 50% of wages. Earlier, the rate was 25%.
