The teaser of Richa Chadha’s hugely anticipated film Shakeela was released today. The actress looks sizzling in the teaser as she brings the rags to riches story of Shakeela to the big screen. In the film, directed by Indrajit Lankesh, Richa is playing the titular role of an adult star who worked primarily in South Indian film industries. The short video gives a glimpse of the stardom Shakeela achieved during her prime time. The film will also show the harassment she faced off-screen.
The teaser starts with the declaration that Shakeela is based on a true shocking story. Then a voice-over can be heard declaring that whenever the attendance in cinema halls fell in the 90s, distributors and exhibitors would think of only one name – Shakeela. We are then shown the current time when the theatres are receiving low footfall due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The makers then announce that Shakeela has been called upon again to bring more people to the theatres. This time, it’s Richa Chadha in and as Shakeela. The teaser showcases montages of close up pictures of Richa Chadha as Shakeela to present her crazy fan following and the harassment she had to face.
Shakeela is releasing in theatres on December 25.
