New Delhi: Bollywood’s famous actor Rishi Kapoor died on Thursday in a hospital in Mumbai. He was 67. Kapoor had been battling cancer for a long time. After his death, everyone from Bollywood has drowned in mourning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and expressed condolences.

The PM tweeted saying, ‘Rishi Kapoor was multi-faceted, beloved and lively. He was a powerhouse of talent. I will always remember my conversation with him on social media. He was enthusiastic about films and the progress of India. I am saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and fans. ॐ shanti. ‘

President Ramnath Kovind tweeted, “The untimely demise of Rishi Kapoor is deeply saddened. Due to their evergreen and happy personality and energy, it is difficult to believe that they did not last. His death is an irreparable loss to the cine world. My condolences to his family, well wishers and fans.

At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the demise of actor Rishi Kapoor, saying that he was popular among people of every generation and his lack will always be felt.

Gandhi tweeted, ‘It has been a sad week for Indian cinema. Another big actor Rishi Kapoor passed away. He was a prolific actor who was popular among people of every generation. Their lack will be felt very much. My condolences to his family, friends and fans in this hour of grief.
