
Many actors in the film industry have left us this year. Another bad news related to the industry is coming out. Veteran musician Vanraj Bhatia has said goodbye to the world forever. He was 93. In his career Vanraj Bhatia gave music to many famous films and TV serials, including more than 7 thousand advertisements.
He had composed music for several films including Manthan, Bhumika, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro!, 36 Chowringhee Lane, Droh Kaal and Junoon, among others. He has also composed music for famous television shows like Tamas and Bharat Ek Khoj. Bhatia is called the foremost composer of western classical music of India. He won a National Film Award for Tamas, which was directed by Govind Nihalani. In 2012, Bhatia was also conferred with the Padma Shri Award.
Lately, Vanraj Bhatia was facing a financial crisis and suffering from age-related health problems. The music composer had to put his household items for sale to deal with the financial crisis. He was unmarried and living alone in his house in South Mumbai.

Vanraj Bhatia was born in Mumbai and studied at Royal Academy of Music London and Paris Conservatory. Bhatia started off as a composer of advertising jingles. He has composed music for almost 7000 jingles. Vanraj Bhatia is best known for composing music for films directed by Shyam Benegal. He has composed the background scores for many films and opening titles for many popular television shows.
