For his recent performance in the Ranbir Kapoor film Animal, Bobby Deol has been getting fantastic reviews from film enthusiasts. We can either love or hate Abrar Haque’s role in the film, but it’s impossible to ignore the character because of the violence and mistreatment of women in it. In fact, many people have come to despise the character. The actor did admit that he felt disgusted when asked to play the role during a recent roundtable discussion about the character.
Bobby Deol has admitted that when he first started filming Animal, the new blockbuster directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, he felt repulsed by the role of Abrar. During the actor’s roundtable on Film Companion, Bobby shared that during the initial days of the shoot, he used to feel “disgusted” about playing the role.
What Bobby mentioned
Yes, when I first started aiming for it, I used to feel terrible about myself. But then I realized that I was acting out a role. Why do I feel so bad and hateful?
Then, whoever I did in those scenes, I was sitting and having dinner with them afterwards. Fir maine uni logo ke sath jinke sath scene main jo bhi kiyaa haii. Bobby said, “Everything is regular.”
Bobby’s assertion was corroborated by other actors present at the roundtable. He was really scary (in the movie), according to Vikrant Massey, who costarred with him in Shanker Raman’s romantic thriller Love Hostel last year. At the same time, he was killing twenty people in a single day. Later, we had dinner together and talked about farming. I thought, “Oh my gosh!”
According to Siddharth, Bobby’s recent on-screen personas are evident to anyone who has even had the slightest encounter with him. And that he would always be known as my gorgeous Bob to the people of his generation.
Bobby’s father Dharmendra and older brother Sunny Deol were compared by Jaideep Ahlawat, who pointed out that while both have acted in violent films, their real-life relationships are very different. Bobby and Kreena Kapoor co-starred in Abbas Mustan’s 2001 action thriller Ajnabee, and Kareena claimed Bobby didn’t even have a bad bone in his body.
In Animal, Bobby plays Abrar, a character who is shown sexually abusing women and killing men. At the worldwide box office, the movie, which also stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Ranbir Kapoor, has made over Rs. 800 crores. For the actor from Bambai Meri Jaan, Animal has received an incredible amount of support, with the film breaking records every day. It has been incredibly moving and beautiful. People are loving my performance and finding it enjoyable. I am appreciative of the current situation. I never thought it would become so big and smash so many records.
