Indian actress Lara Dutta Bhupati celebrated her 20th anniversary of winning Miss Universe 2000 title on 12 May 2020 on Instagram. She recollected her memories of being crowned the title by sharing a series of photos on social media.
Lara wrote, “20 years to the day!! 12 th May 2000, Nicosia, Cyprus. What a wonderful gift to receive from the universe! One I’m eternally grateful for @feminamissindia missdivaorg timesofindia @missuniverse.”
In the photos, one can see Lara taking part in the swimsuit round, wearing an evening gown and finally getting crowned the prestigious award.
Bollywood’s gorgeous lady Sushmita Sen was the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss Universe in 1994. Lara is the second Indian after Sushmita. Like Sushmita, Lara too ventured into Bollywood movies and made her mark as a successful and versatile actress.
Recently, Lara was seen in a action-comedy web series “Hundred”. In addition to acting, Lara also works as a mentor to help aspiring models realize their dreams in international beauty contests.
