Mumbai: Bollywood’s noted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali can film on Lahore’s red-light area ‘Heera Mandi’.
Sanjay is making the film Gangubai Kathiawadi these days. There is a buzz that Bhansali is soon going to make a film on Hira Mandi, a red-light area in Lahore. Bhansali has joined hands with Netflix to make a web film on this period drama. It is being said that this web film will be shot in the early months of 2021.
It is being told that this is a passion project for Sanjay, the film will be a large-scale custom drama. Bhansali is not directing this web film. This film will be directed by Vibhu Puri. For Hira Mandi, Bhansali had made up her mind to take Rani Mukherjee but the matter could not be achieved. Apart from Rani, the names of Priyanka Chopra, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta were also added to this project. However, no actress’s name has been finalized for this project yet.
