Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel has expressed her thankfulness to her film Gadar 2’s director Anil Sharma. In a social media post, Ameesha responded to Anil Sharma who celebrated the box office success of Gadar 2 which hit the theatres recently. Ameesha thanked the director to tell him that she is proud that the filmmaker acknowledged that Gadar 2 belongs to both Tara Singh played by Sunny Deol and Sakeena played by her.

Anil shared a poster of Gadar 2 with the recent box office numbers and wrote on X (formerly called Twitter) on Saturday morning, “Tara sakeena ka pyar .. sabse pyara .. sabke dil mein rahane wala (Tara and Sakeena’s love is the cutest and one that resides in everyone’s hearts).. an eternal love story continue to touch people’s heart 4th week Friday .. 5.20 cr .. thanx for your love audiences.”

Ameesha was touched by Anil’s post wherein she found the filmmaker to be appreciating the roles of both the hero and heroine. She wrote on the social media platform, “So glad @Anilsharma_dir … yes .. TARA +SAKINA = GADAR !!! Ur thought related to this post is bang on!! Audiences love is great for TARA N SAKINA.”
The post comes a few hours after Anil Sharma replied to Ameesha’s claims that she would not do Gadar 3 if the screen presence for the characters of Tara and Sakeena is not sufficient.
Anil had shared with Bollywood Hungama that he would rather not comment on the things that Ameesha has said about him and the film. Anil said that he respected Ameesha and will always do so. The character of Sakeena has been his heart’s creation and he himself doesn’t know what is in store for Gadar 3. He said that he is only happy that she connected with Gadar and would thank her irrespective of the fact that she says good or bad things about him and the film in general.
Gadar 2 which hit the theatres recently is a story set in 1971 when Tara Singh goes to Pakistan to rescue his son. Utkarsh Sharma plays the role of Jeete who is the son of Tara Singh played by Sunny Deol in the film. Manish Wadhwa is the important villain in the film whereas, Gaurav Chopra plays the character of an Indian Army Officer.
Released in theatres on 11 August 2023, Gadar 2 has so far collected Rs 637 crores in gross collections at the worldwide box office. It has risen as the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. Reviewers and critics called Gadar 2 to be a mass entertainer and a paisa vasool watch. Director Anil Sharma has been appreciated for ensuring to have packed every ingredient to come up with a big-screen entertainer. For the unversed, Gadar 2 is a sequel to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which was released in 2001 and had the same star cast. The film has been narrated by Nana Patekar and produced and directed by Anil Sharma.
