Auto Desk – 2023 is around the corner and Pratap Bose, Chief Design Officer at Mahindra, has teased a new SUV. The new SUV looks like a Hyundai Creta-sized model and the visual details show that it will have flared wheel arches, a prominent shoulder line, and a hunchback-type boot design.
Currently, Mahindra has not into the compact SUV space, which comprises the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and Volkswagen Taigun.
Notably, We’re expecting the XUV500 to make a comeback in a new-generation avatar. Mahindra also confirmed that the XUV500 will be temporarily discontinued, but will return in the future.
Taking about the second-generation XUV500, we can expect 1.2-liter turbo-petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engines. And it could be one of the few SUVs with a diesel powertrain. It also pairs with its segment rivals with a large touchscreen, premium sound system, electric sunroof, six airbags, and probably ADAS as well.
Moreover, if it is a compact model, is expected to be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 17 lakh.
