Second phase of polling: Bumper voting again in Bengal and Assam

Kolkata / Guwahati: West Bengal and Assam also have bumper voting in the second phase. According to the Election Commission, Assam had 73.03 per cent polling till 6 pm and Bengal 80.43 per cent.

There is a contest between Mamata Banerjee and BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari on the state’s high-profile Nandigram seat. This seat is reported to have 80.79 percent voting. Chief Minister Mamata was present in the Nandigram constituency during the voting. He has complained to the Election Commission of rigging the election. While Suvendu Adhikari claims that Mamta is losing the election from this seat, hence she is doing a lot of ‘tamasha’. Adhikari said, “Nobody is supporting her in Nandigram, she has lost.”

Targeting PM’s rallies in Bengal, the TMC chief said, “Why does the Prime Minister come here on the day of voting in Bengal?” Why do they rally on polling day? Accusing Mamata, “The Home Minister directs CRPF, BSF and other jawans deployed in electoral duty to help the BJP.” The Election Commission is silent. I have handed over several letters in this regard, but they are unilaterally helping him. ‘
