Punjab Assembly Elections: In the presence of district administration officers and representatives from political parties, the district administration conducted a second randomization on Thursday at the District Administrative Complex to deploy manpower for the upcoming assembly polls, which are scheduled to take place on February 20.

General election observers Annavi Dinesh Kumar, Prabhanshu Kumar Srivastav, Dev Raj Dev, Shesh Nath, and TN Venkatesh, as well as district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and additional district election officer-cum-additional deputy commissioner (general) Rahul Chaba, were present at the randomization.

The randomization was held for the deployment of around 20,000 personnel from the federal and state governments, banks, and public sector companies, who were given tasks such as counting, polling, and assisting staff, as well as being used as micro-observers.

Several personnel have been assigned to serve as presiding officers (PRO) and polling officers (PO) during the election, and sufficient staff will be assigned to count the votes on March 10.

DC stated that more than 20,000 employees will ensure fair election and conduct poll duty in the district, including polling staff and returning officer’s supporting staff. The meeting was organised to ensure a fair and trouble free election in the Punjab.
