Bhadoi : Four youngsters were swept away by the currents of the Ganga in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. The police said that five youths had gone to take a bath in the Ganga, and just as they jumped into the river, they failed to maintain balance and were swept away by its currents.

The incident occurred at Bihrozpur Ganga Ghat in Gopiganj police circle, Bhadohi district. A group of people who were standing on the banks of the river saved one of the youths, the police said, adding that four went missing. Divers were pressed into service and the search went on for several hours, but they were unable to locate the missing youths.

On getting information, senior district and police officials rushed to the site to supervise the rescue operation. The youths were identified as Prabhat Mishra, Vicky Mishra, Lucky Mishra and Ankit Choubey.
