UP govt has envisaged bigger plans for the development of Purvanchal after the completion of CM yogi’s dream project of Purvanchal Expressway, connecting eastern UP to Delhi and Bihar. It got validation from the bureaucrats as well. Speaking at one of the national seminar on ‘Sustainable Development of Purvanchal’ in Lucknow, Additional Chief Secretary, MSME & Export Promotion, Navneet Sehgal said, “Agriculturally rich, Purvanchal region has more to offer apart from its cheap labour. If we provide skill development training and better infrastructure to the people then it has the potential of becoming better investment destination than Vietnam and Thailand for the foreign companies.”
“Purvanchal region is rich in resources like land and water and now we need to focus on further tapping its potential in traditional art and craft which has been practiced in the region since generations,” said Sehgal emphasising that the region has the potential to become an economic hotspot not only for the State but for the entire nation.

The region has got everything besides agriculture; there is a traditional cottage industry that thrived here on the local art and craft. Due to poor connectivity, lack of government support and migration in the region behind the lackluster development. But now Yogi government is providing financial, technological and market support to the people of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
