Raja Bhaiyya’s father put under house arrest

Pratapgarh (UP): Kunwar Uday Pratap Singh, father of Kunda legislator Raghuraj Pratap Singh, was placed under house arrest for launching a protest, demanding removal of a temporary gate constructed for Muharram in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, the : police said on Friday. According to a senior police officer in the district, ban orders are in vogue in the district because of Muharram, so Uday Pratap Singh has been put under house arrest to ensure law and order.

Police force has been deployed outside his residence in Bhadri village. Singh has been put under house arrest after the superintendent of police and the district met him asking him to cancel his protest. Singh has been demanding removal of the temporary gage near a mosque, Seikhpura, Ashiq village.  As nobody took any action to meet his demand, Singh started a sit-in on the premises of Kunda Tehsil. He also appealed to shopkeepers and business establishments in Kunda to put up their shutters in support of Singh’s demand.
