Missing boy’s body found in UP, Area, cops attacked, six hurt

Budaun (UP): A missing 17-year-old boy, found dead in a field of Papel village under Wazirganj police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district, enraged the villagers so much that they attacked a police team injuring half a dozen cops, sources said on Saturday. The angry villagers said that the police did not take any action in connection with the incident. On getting information, some senior police officials, with additional forces, rushed to the village because tension prevailed there. Sources said that Sukhbir Singh had set out of home on July 24 to go to the farmland but went missing.

His family members lodged a missing person’s report at the police station on July 27. The police also added various sections of kidnapping under the Indian Penal Code to the complaint made by the family of the boy. Sukhbir’s partially decomposed body was found in a field near his village. After identifying the body from the clothes the boy was wearing, his family members and other villagers attacked the station officer of Wazirganj Mahesh Singh and some other cops. They accused the policemen of failing to find the boy. Meanwhile, the injured policemen were rushed to a hospital. According to district magistrate of Budaun Deepa Ranjan, the injured policemen were rescued from the village and rushed to hospital. She said that the administration was trying to contact the family members of the boy.
