Lucknow photographer booked for harassing girl at studio

Lucknow (UP): The police booked a photographer for allegedly sexually harassing an 18-year-old girl at his studio in Dalibagh area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Friday. The girl lodged a complaint, saying that she had gone to the studio near her house for a passport-size photograph which she was to submit to her school.  

According to the complaint, but for the photographer, there was none in the studio. The photographer told her to adjust her dupatta, and, then, he himself approached the girl, but on the pretext of adjusting her dupatta, he began to harass her. The girl said that she had pushed the photographer and escaped, but he threatened her with dire consequences.

She related her tale of woes to her parents who lodged a complaint at the Hasanganj police station. According to the station house officer Atul Kumar Srivastava, on the grounds of the girl’s complaint, a case has been registered against the photographer who went away after the incident. The police have launched a search for him, Srivastava said.
