Harassed by stalker, girl drinks acid in UP’s Moradabad district
Moradabad: Incidents of crime against women are rising in Uttar Pradesh even if the state government led by Yogi Adityanath has claimed it has been able to instill fear in the minds of crooks. This was evident when a minor girl consumed acid after a local youth stalked and harassed her. The girl was so perturbed that she consumed acid to get rid of her stalker and admitted to a hospital in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Wednesday. This was the second incident of harassment of a minor girl. Just two days ago, a 14-year-old girl was held hostage by her stalker in Lucknow, the capital of the state.
In the Moradabad incident, the girl’s father accused the youth of molesting her on her way to college, the police further said. So harassed the girl was, that she stopped going to school, her father said in a complaint. The girl is in a critical condition. The police have only registered an FIR against the culprit. According to the police, an investigation into the case has begun.
