Another day, another woman under attack in UP

Kanpur:  After an incident at Koshi Kalan in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district where a Dalit woman was gang-raped and her legs were crushed under a motorcycle, another incident of crime against woman has come to light.

According to reports, four criminals molested a minor girl and tried to abduct her in a car at Chakeri area in Kanpur district on Thursday, the police said on Friday, adding that all the criminals had been arrested. When the girl yelled for help, a few locals rushed to the car, stopped it and rescued the girl from the clutches of the abductors. After thrashing them, the crowd handed over the youths to the police. According to the father of the girl, she is studying in class 12 at a local college.

The police said that the youths had been identified as Akash Dwivedi, Aman Dwivedi, Anubhav Tiwari and Piyush Dixit. Chakeri police station in-charge Shailendra Singh said the accused were being interrogated.
