Before the plaintiffs received the alleged threat calls, former civil judge of Varanasi Ravi Kumar Diwakar also received such calls. It was Diwakar who ordered a court-commissioned survey in the case of women seeking rights to worship in Shringar Gauri temple. Pandey lodged a complaint at the Luxa police station, said station officer Anil Sahu. According to the complaint, Pandey received two calls from international numbers.
