6 killed, over 12 hurt, as tanker hits tractor-trolley in Bareilly

Bareilly (UP): Six persons died and more than 12 sustained injuries in a road accident near Bahedi police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly district on Sunday, the police said. The accident occurred when a tanker collided head-on with a tractor trolley. The injured were rushed to the district hospital.

The tractor-trolly carrying more than 30 people was coming from Sitarganj in Uttarakhand. They were going to Gurudwara in Bareilly. As soon as the tractor-trolley reached Bahedi, the tanker hit the vehicle from behind. The tanker driver ran away. On getting information, the police rushed to the spot and sent the injured to the district hospital. The condition of some of the injured was stated to be critical.
