Mumbai: Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde allocated portfolios to his ministers on Saturday, after two months of formation of his government. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has cornered the plum departments. Shinde has the Urban Development, Information and Technology, Public Works Department, Transport and other departments, sources said.

Devendra Fadnavis, who is Deputy Chief Minister, has got the Home, Finance, Planning, Law and Justice, Water Resources, Energy, Housing and other departments. The portfolios were allocated six days after Shinde expanded his cabinet by introducing 18 ministers, including each from the Shiv Sena (Shinde camp) and the BJP. Both Shinde and Fadnavis took oath as chief minister and deputy chief minister on June 30.
