Lucknow: Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP),leader Om Prakash Rajbhar, is trying to mend fences with Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav. Earlier, Rajbhar urged Yadav to mend his style of functioning after the SP’s loss in the two recently held Lok Sabha by-elections – Azamgarh and Rampur. The party won both the seats in the Parliamentary election in 2019.

Now that Akhilesh has said that he does not need anybody’s advice, Rajbhar wants to bury the hatchet with the former. The SBSP leader now claims that the party is still with the SP and is waiting for Yadav’s response. Sources in the SP said that Akhilesh was not keen to meet Rajbhar, because of the latter’s pressure tactics. Aside from that, Rajbhar also tried to get closer to Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, but did not get any reply from her. He himself said that he had sought a meeting with the BSP chief, but did not get any appointment.

Rajbhar said that as Mulayam Singh Yadav’s wife, Sadhana Yadav, had passed away, he extended the deadline for a meeting with Akhilesh. The SBSP, meanwhile, suffered a setback, as one of its leaders Shashi Pratap Singh quit the party and joined a new outfit Rashtriya Samata Party.  Singh said that Rajbhar had brought his wife and son into politics side-lining the party workers. These developments indicate that all is not well with Rajbhar.
