Youth sacrificed at temple in MP village, Tantrik arrested
Bhopal: A witchcraft practitioner has sacrificed a 19-year-old youth at a temple in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, the police said on Saturday. The incident, which occurred on July 6 after the Tantrik’s wife gave birth to a male child, came to light when the police arrested the murderer. According to the police, locals found the body of the youth identified as Divyansh Kol in a pool of blood on the premises of a temple in a village.
On getting information, the police rushed to the spot and took the body for the post-mortem. But they could not identify it. When the police circulated the photograph of the youth on social media, they came to know that the youth belonged to a neighbouring village Keunti. Divyansh was close to Ramlal Prajapati and both were seen going to the temple on July 6. When the cops searched for Prajapati, his family members said that he was not at home and his phone was switched off.
Nevertheless, when the police searched his house at night again, they caught him and brought him to the police station. During interrogation, Prajapati, who was involved in witchcraft, tried to mislead the police by telling different stories. He, however, could not withstand the quizzing for long and admitted sacrificing the youth at the altar of the goddess.
Prajapati has told the police that he has three daughters and he always wanted a son. Therefore, he had pledged that if his wife, who was pregnant, gave birth to a male child, he would sacrifice a youth. Last month, Prajapati's wife gave birth to a male child and he was searching for a youth for the sacrifice.
Prajapati took Divyansh to the temple and as the latter lay down before the goddess, he attacked him with an axe and ran away, the police said. The accused was arrested.
