Tricolour belongs to all religions: Rahul
Bharat Jodo Yatra is second freedom struggle, says Chidambaram
Kanyakumari: Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Wayanad in Kerala Rahul Gandhi said on Wednesday that the Tricolour did not come easily. Launching Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi said that the people of India earned it and it belongs to every religion and language. He also said that not only Congress, the millions of people of the country felt the need for Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Congress leader and former Union minister P Chadambaram said, “The Yatra launched by Rahul Gandhi is the country’s second freedom struggle and it will go on till the divisive forces are defeated.”
Chidambaram took the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for criticising the Yatra. He said that the BJP would have no role in the second freedom struggle. Chidambaram said, “I wish to tell those criticising our Bharat Jodo Yatra that you have no role in India’s freedom struggle during which Mahatma Gandhi gave the slogan: do or die. Now too, you will have no role. Our journey will not end till the divisive forces are defeated.” He made the statement at a rally near Gandhi Mandapam in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. As the BJP apparently did not want the nation to remained, its leaders are ridiculing the Yatra, the senior Congress leader said.
