Tandoor Chicken vs Tongue & Cheek: Mahua Moitra says ‘Silly souls!”
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shehzad Poonawala’s comments on what the suspended members of Parliament (MPs) ate during their protest against suspension received sharp reaction from Trinamool Congress MP Mohua Moitra on Friday. In a tweet, Poonawala said that protesting MPs are enjoying “Tandoori Chicken while protesting in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue…”
Responding to Poonawala’s tweets Moitra said, “BJP’s hired help commenting on what food suspended MPs eat on dharna. Silly Souls! Don’t you know your masters serve both tongue & cheek?”
The suspended MPs have been on a 50-hour protest in front of Gandhi’s statue for several days. An MP from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was suspended from the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Nineteen members belonging to various opposition parties were suspended on Tuesday. Total number of members suspended from the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha are 24.
