ED grills Sonia Gandhi for six hours

New Delhi: The officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) grilled Congress’ interim president Sonia Gandhi for six hours amid protests by party leaders and workers on Tuesday, sources said. This was her second grilling by the ED in connection with the National Herald newspaper case. Her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accompanied Sonia Gandhi to the ED office.

To deal with the Congress protesters, the Delhi police deployed adequate forces and barricaded the stretch between her residence and the office. Earlier, Sonia Gandhi appeared before the ED on July 21. The probe agency also quizzed Rahul Gandhi in connection with the case. The Congress, however, said that there had been no wrong doing in connection with the National Herald case. She will be questioned again on Wednesday.
