Bhopal: Over 5,000 workers and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will gather at Motilal Nehru stadium at Jahangirabad in Bhopal to attend a meeting to be addressed by party president JP Nadda. He is arriving at Bhopal on Wednesday, party sources said on Monday.

According to sources, party men from every nook across the state will attend the conference. Therefore, the ruling party is getting ready to welcome its president.
The Congress leaders, however, say that the purpose of the meeting is to generate hype before the ensuing Panchayat elections which are beginning from June 25. As the ruling party has nothing to offer to the public, it is trying to generate heat through other means, they further said.
Nadda, who is going to stay in the state for three days, is likely to take part in various events and hold a meeting with the members of the state core committee of the party, sources said.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with state party president Vishnu Dutt Sharma, on Monday inspected the preparations at Motilal Nehru stadium. Chouhan and other leaders discussed various aspects related to the event. President of the state party unit VD Sharma has said that the party will give a rousing welcome to its national president.

Besides meeting the members of the core committee, Nadda will hold a meeting with the members of the election committee. Both the panels have members from different castes. One of the members is Kavita Patidar whose name has been proposed for Rajya Sabha elections. After addressing the meetings, Nadda will leave for Jabalpur where he will meet the workers of the party’s youth wing.
