Lucknow: To enhance the city’s grandeur and attract more tourists CM of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Aditynath wants to develop Varanasi as the city of tents on the lines of Run of Kutch, in Gujarat. The attraction of the Ghats of Kashi is all over the world. People from all over the world come to Kashi to witness the majestic Ghats and temples on the banks of the Ganges. The world's oldest and most vibrant city, Kashi, is now going to be settled in a tent city. Tent City will be situated on the sand right in front of the historical Ghats of Kashi, from Navratri to Shivratri. From this tent city on the banks of the Ganges, one can see the beautiful crescent-shaped 84 ghats.

Tent City will also have facilities for tourists to organize seminars and conferences, facilities like food, traditional entertainment along with spirituality will also be there. The aura of the tent city will be worth seeing in the moonlit night. Staying on the banks of the Ganges instead of the hotel and getting up in the morning to see the beautiful aura of the Ghat with the darshan of Mother Ganga will also be included as a new experience. Kashi's tent city will be developed on the lines of Gujarat's Run of Kutch and Jaisalmer's Sand Dunes. The Varanasi Development Authority has issued an expression of interest for this, the last date of which has been kept as 15 May 2022.


After the rejuvenation of the Kashi corridor and all-round development visitors have increased in Varanasi to witness its new avtar. In such a situation, the Yogi government is bringing a proposal to build a tent city on the banks of the Ganges to provide better facilities to the tourists. Isha Duhan, vice-chairman of the Varanasi Development Authority, said that the city of tents will be set up in the Katesar area of ​​Ramnagar on the sand opposite Assi Ghat on the other side of the Ganges in about 500 hectares. But it can be increased as per the need. The city will have a confluence of religion, spirituality and culture. Tent city will have every facility which is there in any tourist place. Here along with typical Banarasi food and drink, you will also be able to enjoy traditional cultural programs in the open air. Along with this, tourists will also be able to enjoy water adventure sports (Jet Ski, Banana Boat Parasailing, Camel and Horse Riding, Fishing).


The atmosphere will be like home in the tent

Staying in the Tent City, tourists will find a home-like atmosphere in the tent amidst the tumult of Nirmal and Aviral Ganga. There will be a quiet place for yoga, meditation, library, art gallery. Tent city will also be seen in the package tour of tourists. Along with Subah-e-Banaras breakfast and prayers arrangements of Maa Ganga aarti will also be there. There will be a jetty from where you will be able to board a cruise and barge for a walk in the Ganges. Tent city will start around Navratri and will continue till around Shivratri.
