Akhilesh slams Yogi Govt over power cuts and fake promise on farmer’s bill waiver
Lucknow. Political temperatures are also on the rise amind the scorching heat and power cuts due to the coal shortage in the state. Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav has once again attacked the Yogi government and takes a jibe that the BJP Govt in elections had said that farmers will get a waiver on electricity bills for 5 years. But now in a complete u-turn, the government is now asking for the bill from every consumer even from the farmers in order to provide electricity.
In a tweet on Monday, Akhilesh wrote that the Yogi government should explain why this government did not increase the production capacity which had increased during the time of SP. Why was the power crisis imposed on the public?

The SP chief wrote in another tweet, "If the BJP government of UP is really with the people who are suffering from unemployment, then it should waive the outstanding electricity bills from 'Corona period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2022'." This is a special expectation from the government of the poor because they have not earned their income and also of the senior citizens because the interest rate has come down to half. Significantly, CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered the officers and employees of the Electricity Corporation to stop power cuts and ensure power supply according to the roster. On the other hand, the opposition is constantly besieging the government on the power crisis.
भाजपा ने चुनाव में कहा कि किसानों को अगले 5 साल बिजली बिल नहीं देना पड़ेगा पर अब कह रहे हैं कि हर एक उपभोक्ता भुगतान करे तभी आपूर्ति होगी।— Akhilesh Yadav (@yadavakhilesh) May 2, 2022
ये सरकार बताए कि सपा के समय में जो उत्पादन क्षमता बढ़ी थी, उसमें इस सरकार ने कोई बढ़ोत्तरी क्यों नहीं करी व जनता पर बिजली संकट क्यों थोपा।
Akhilesh takes a jibe at Yogi Government on social media
Earlier, Akhilesh accused the BJP government of not doing any work for power generation. He said that as per the demand of 23 thousand MW power is not being supplied in the state, then from where will the electricity be available? The reality of the BJP's false claims is now coming to the fore. Giving instructions, CM Yogi said that a one-time settlement scheme (OTS) should be brought for payment of electricity bill dues. The scheme should be such, in that people get exemption from interest on arrears, there should be a facility of payment in installments. Action in this regard is expected at the earliest.
Meanwhile, UP and the whole of India are reeling under the power cuts due to the coal shortage for which the Centre has canceled more than 600 hundred passenger trains to accelerate the supply of coals rakes to UP and other power plants.
