DG Intelligence DS Chauhan becomes acting DGP of UP
UP DG Intelligence DS Chauhan has been given an additional charge of DGP of Uttar Pradesh.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh News: IPS DS Chauhan has been made the acting DGP of Uttar Pradesh. He will take charge till the deployment of DGP. He now also has the additional charge of DG Vigilance. Former UP, DGP Mukul Goyal was removed from the post for not taking interest in departmental work. After his removal from the post of DGP, he has been sent to the post of DG Civil Defense. Chief Secretary Avnish Awasthi has issued an order related to this. His name is also included in the race to become DGP. UP DG Intelligence DS Chauhan has been given an additional charge of DGP of Uttar Pradesh.
DG Intelligence DS Chauhan's name is running at the fore in the race for the new Director-General of Police of UP. He is a 1988 batch IPS officer and is working as DG Intelligence since 15 February 2020. Apart from this, Chouhan also has the charge of the director of UP Vigilance Establishment (Vigilance)
In an order issued by UP Government's Additional Chief Secretary Avnish Kumar Awasthi, it has been said that it has been decided to give additional charge of Director General of Police to the Director-General of Intelligence, Devendra Singh Chauhan. DS Chauhan, who returned to UP from central deputation, was posted as IG in CRPF. DS Chauhan, a 1988 batch DG rank officer, has also served in Chhattisgarh.
Why was Mukul Goyal removed?
Significantly, taking a big decision, the Yogi government has removed DGP Mukul Goyal on Wednesday. Director-General of Police Mukul Goyal has been sent to the post of DG Civil Defense, freeing him from the post of DGP due to disregard for government work, lack of interest in departmental work, and inaction.
