There was a big brawl between parties for the member of finance and contract committee and late at night on Wednesday, 5 candidates from the parties filed their nomination for the same.

Early, the BJP and AAP are fielding two candidates each, while the Congress is fielding one. There are 13 BJP councillors (plus one Chandigarh MP vote), 14 AAP councillors, seven Congress councillors, and one Shiromani Akali Dal councillor.
With as many candidates filing nominations on Wednesday, the five members who will be chosen to the municipal corporation’s finance and contract committee (F&CC) are now a foregone conclusion.

Taruna Mehta and Jasbir Singh of the Aam Aadmi Party, Maheshinder Singh Sidhu and Saurabh Joshi of the BJP, and Gurbax Rawat of the Congress have filed nominations.
The results will be formally announced on January 24, the day before the election.
