Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister and the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), raised the poll-pitch ahead of the next Punjab Assembly election on Saturday, saying that if his party is elected to power, he will not impose any new taxes in the state.
“No new tax would be levied in Punjab if AAP comes in power,” Kejriwal stated addressing people of Punjab.

Kejriwal said at a public gathering in Jalandhar that a legislation should be enacted to prohibit forcible religious conversions. “Religion is a personal choice. Every person has the right to worship a deity. Although a legislation barring religious conversions should be enacted, no one should be harassed as a result of it. “It’s immoral to convert people by scaring them,” the AAP leader remarked.
If elected, Kejriwal also vowed that the AAP government would start offering doorstep delivery and establish Mohalla clinics. He proposed a plan to build 16000 clinics and rebuild hospitals in Punjab. According to Kejriwal, Punkab will get all the benefits like Delhi.

Kejriwal further urged Punjab to allow AAP five years to capture the hearts of the people.”Industrialists were considered the BJP’s voting bank in Delhi. Despite the fact that I am a ‘baniya,’ the baniyas of Delhi have never voted for me. They started voting when I won their hearts. We’ll win your hearts in five years if you give us five years “he explained.
