The Cyber Crime section of the Hyderabad Authorities Department has filed a case against actor Siddharth for his controversial tweet against ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal.
A case was filed against the actor under IPC Section 509 and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act, according to a senior police official. The case was filed after a woman filed a complaint against Siddharth over his online remarks against the badminton player.
Saina Nehwal expressed her gratitude to Siddharth for publicly apologising for his derogatory statements about her after she voiced concerns about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent security breach.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) asked Twitter India to “immediately” block Siddharth’s account after he replied to the Olympic bronze medalist’s tweet on PM Modi’s security breakdown in Punjab a few days earlier.
He apologised, calling his remark a “rude joke” and admitting he couldn’t “justify my tone and words.” Saina expressed her gratitude for his acknowledgment.
