New Delhi: BCCI’s first chief executive Rahul Johri submitted his resignation to the board some time ago but will have to wait a little longer to be relieved of the post.
Johri was appointed to the post in 2016 and after the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators moved in October last year, he decided to step down, paving the way for the Sourav Ganguly-led team to take over.
Board President Ganguly said that he has not yet received his resignation letter. He said, “When we get this (resignation letter), then we will see.
After taking over as Chief Executive Officer, Johri was working on several fronts in which he played a key role in selling IPL broadcaster rights Star India for Rs 16,348 crore. He was appointed to the post when Shashank Manohar was the BCCI President and Anurag Thakur was the Secretary of the Board.
