New Delhi: West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell said that playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier (IPL) league has been his most ‘thrilling’ experience for him and he wants to stay with the same team till his final match in the league. Huh. The 32-year-old player said this at the Kolkata Knight Riders official ‘Nights Unplugged’ online show.
The Jamaican player is currently at home as the IPL has been suspended indefinitely due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Referring to his team’s home ground in Kolkata, Russell said, “I must admit that the IPL is the tournament that thrills you the most. It also happens while playing in the Caribbean Premier League but when it comes to playing in the IPL, especially the Eden Gardens, it cannot be compared. “
He said, “I would love to stay in KKR till the time I say this will be my last IPL. I have been with KKR for six seasons and I have enjoyed a moment here. “
Jamaican-born star all-rounder Russell has scored 1034 runs in 56 ODIs for the West Indies while scoring 540 runs in 49 T20 Internationals and 1400 runs in 64 IPL matches, with a strike rate of 186.4.
