The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is in talks with the Cricket Board of India and South Africa to host the women’s tri-oneday international series this year.
The Indian women’s team was to play a three-match ODI against England and a similar T20 International series but it has been postponed for the time being. The Women’s T20 World Cup was the last major cricket competition in Australia before the Covid-19 pandemic stalled sporting activities in March.
ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said that if everything went according to plan, he hoped that international women’s cricket could be seen this year. Harrison said during the Tuffers and Vaughn podcast, “If everything goes well, we can get to see international cricket.”
The plan is to have England play some international cricket this year. We are talking to the BCCI and Cricket South Africa with the intention of inviting the women’s teams for the tri-series. “He said,” In September this year, we might get to celebrate something about women’s cricket. We are desperate to keep the rhythm. Women’s cricket has made great progress in the recent past. “
