Abu Dhabi: The 55th match of IPL 2020 was played between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, with Delhi winning by 6 wickets. With this, Delhi has secured second place in the points table. Now Delhi and Mumbai will get two chances to reach the finals. On the other hand, RCB have also confirmed their place in the playoffs despite defeat. Batting first after losing the toss in the match, RCB scored 152 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing the target, Delhi lost the match by losing 4 wickets in 19 overs.
RCB received an early setback as Josh Phillip (12), batting first. After this, captain Virat Kohli put RCB in a strong position by sharing a half-century partnership for the second wicket with Devdutt Paddikal. Kohli returned to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs.
After this, Devdutt Paddikal scored his 5th IPL half-century. With this innings, Devadatta became the uncapped Indian player to score the highest 50+ in a debut.
Enrich Nourtze put RCB under pressure by sending Paddikal (50) and Chris Morris (0) to the pavilion in the 16th over, and Kohli and company were able to score 152/7 in the scheduled overs. After that Ajinkya Rahane scored 60 runs in 46 balls with the help of 6 boundaries and Delhi won the match by 6 wickets. Shahbaz Ahmed took 2 wickets from RCB, while Mohammad Siraj and Washington Sundar took 1-1 wickets each.
