Bhopal:The Congress is getting ready to corner the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the assembly, according to party sources on Tuesday. As part of the plan, the party will prepare an ‘Arop Patra’ (charge sheet) against the government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and put it up before the state assembly.

To implement the plan, the party held a meeting at the residence of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Kamal Nath on Monday. Former leader of opposition Ajay Singh has been asked to prepare a list of charges with facts concerned with various issues and the projects launched by Chouhan, sources further said.
Leader of opposition Govind Singh Rajput said that the ‘Arop Patra” would consist of various misdeeds of the government, including Vyapam scam, atrocities against tribal people and crime against women. Rajput said that he would put it up before the assembly to expose the government and that from the assembly, the party will take it to the people across the state.
The Congress has been tearing into the Chouhan-led state government over various issues including repeated communal violence. Both the parties have locked horns over OBC quota for over seven days after the Supreme Court issued an order on providing a 27% quota to the candidates of other backward classes in the local bodies’ election.
On Monday, Rajput dashed off a letter to Chouhan, seeking the resignation of Home Minister Narottam Mishra after the alleged killing of a 65-year-old man in Neemuch district of the state. The husband of a woman leader of the ruling party beat up the man, suspecting him to be of a particular community. The man died because of severe thrashing. Nath also dressed down the Chouhan-led government for its involvement in corruption.

He said, “Whenever any election comes, BJP leaders, including the Chief Minister go out to break false coconuts and make false announcements and a flood of foundation stones comes. Once again crores of false dreams are being shown from the empty treasury. This kind of game is played before every election and the rest of the time the government is engaged in events, events, self-propaganda, corruption, scams.”
The BJP hit back at the Congress, saying that the party should make a charge sheet against its state president Kamal Nath and MP Rahul Gandhi for handing hollow promises to the people of the state before the last assembly election.
