Tips to prevent a heat stroke

The Indian Meteorological Department has released a red alert to cities like Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh because the temperature is just rising in North India like anything in this Summer.

The heatwave is likely to also spread in other parts of India for some days more, as per a report.

Here is how you can find out and prevent a heat stroke:

If you feel any of the following signs, then you are already or are likely to suffer from a heat stroke:
Weakness
Irritability
Delusions
Hallucinations
Seizures
Abdominal and/or muscle cramps
Nausea and vomiting
Headache
Dizziness

Some tips to prevent a heatstroke:
Now as we are going through lockdown, we anyways don’t step outside of our homes. But for those who go out for necessary work, ideally do not go out between 12 PM and 5 PM.

Drink lots of water throughout the day. Minimum 8 glasses of water per day is a must. Also, drink vegetables soups, fruit juices, lassi, lemonade etc.

Try wearing cotton clothes and loose-fitted dresses as it will air to your skin and keep it less sweaty.

Avoid drinking lot of coffee, alcohol. Also, avoiding fried foods can help to keep your digestion system good in this summer.

Use fans at full speed / coolers / ACs if you can. Keep hydrating your body and ensuring passage of air in your room to stay healthy.
