It seems obvious when you or your partner or family member complains of lack of sound sleep during coronavirus crisis.
We are going through a difficult time since many months and the breaking newsheadlines about the number of people getting infected with the deadly virus is making us all more anxious.
It’s natural to be sad or disappointed about the current situation as we all are HUMANS and not machines to stay unaffected by the external environment.
However, if you believe ruminating over the past and the present crisis is going to be of any use to you, then you are absolutely wrong.
Watching news to stay updated about the current happenings is a good idea but making that habit affect your 7 to 8 hours of sound sleep at night is not at all good for your health.
Here are some tips to get good sleep:
1) Stick to a sleep schedule for the weekdays and weekends. If you are working from home, it is a MUST to create a sleep schedule and stick to it throughout the week.
2) 7 to 9 hours of sleep is a MUST, even if you don’t agree to it. Our body and brain needs rest to function effectively in the remaining hours of the day.
3) In case you have been taking afternoon naps for a while, and it is affecting your night’s sleep, then kindly avoid.
4) Relax yourself before sleeping by doing meditation, listening to soft music or reading a inspiring book. No matter what, you are not going to watch news channels before going to sleep as that’s not a good idea.
5) Avoid caffeine, alcohol and heavy meals in the evening. It is likely to affect your digestion and create gas troubles, thus affecting your sleep.
