Onam is a festival celebrated by people of Kerala and people belonging to Kerala origin once in a year.
This year, the festival is from 22 August 2020 and ends on 2 September 2020. It falls on the month of Chingham as per the Malayalam calendar month.
As this year, coronavirus has affected the celebrations of the festival. Hence, people are requested to observe the festival from their homes and follow social distancing.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan encouraged people to observe the festival by using locally available flowers and things at their homes.
