A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his two young daughters inside a hotel room near Bengaluru airport before attempting to take his own life, police said. The incident is being investigated as a double murder and suicide attempt.
The accused has been identified as SG Imran, a resident of Nagawara in north Bengaluru. His daughters were aged five and 10.
According to police, Imran strangled both children inside a room at the Taj Hotel near Bengaluru airport. He then allegedly used a knife to slit his throat.
Hotel Staff Alerted Authorities
Hotel security staff entered the room after hearing Imran’s screams. They immediately alerted the authorities and arranged for him to be taken to a hospital.
Police said Imran is undergoing treatment and is currently out of danger.
Kempegowda Airport police reached the hotel following the incident and started an investigation.
Police Recover Note From Room
DCP North East GK Mithun Kumar said police recovered a note allegedly written by Imran.
In the note, Imran claimed that he was having a dispute with his wife and suspected her of having a relationship with another person. He also claimed that he had evidence to support his allegation.
However, police said they are still verifying the exact reason behind the deaths and investigating the case from all possible angles.
Investigation Underway
Police have confirmed that both girls were strangled. Investigators are now trying to establish the exact circumstances and motive behind the killings.
