Why the festival of Navratri is about women empowerment

Navratri is a Hindu festival that is celebrated all over India for nine nights or ten days in the autumn.

Different parts of India observe the festival as per their customs and traditions.

Sharada Navaratri is celebrated this year from 17 October 2020 to 25 October 2020.

The festival gives respect to the nine forms of Goddess Durga who battles and triumphs victory over the buffalo demon Mahishasura to restore humanity and faith in the world.

It gives a message to the society that Good always wins over Evil. The festival calls upon every woman to have faith in her abilities and believe that she is Durga who can deal with any challenge in her life with her own inner strength.

The festival is about empowering women to help them realize their true potential and use their wisdom to overcome all the problems in life.

It is time women come out in the open and believe that they are strong, intelligent and worthy to fight their battles fearlessly.

Although love, forgiveness, compassion, patience and dignity are considered to be women’s natural qualities, but the festival of Navaratri proves that when the right time comes, a woman can turn into Durga as well in order to fight all the demons from her life.
