Everything you need to know about Karwa Chauth 2020

This year, Karwa Chauth will be celebrated on 4 November 2020, Wednesday.

The festival marks the relationship between a husband and a wife. It is majorly celebrated by people of North India.

On this day, married women pray for their happiness and well-being of their husbands by observing a fast and dressing like a new bride.

They break their fast after getting some gifts from their husband in the evening after seeing the Moon.

The shubh muhurat of Karwa Chauth 2020 is between 5:34 PM to 6:52 PM. Women can observe the fast between 6:35 AM to 8:12 PM.

In order to do the Karwa Chauth puja, you would need a plate to keep all pooja items, a kalash, lamp, earthern pot, dhoop, flowers, fruits, sweets, akshat, sindoor, milk, curd, ghee, Maa Chauth’s photograph, red chunari and others as per the rituals followed in your family.

Married women usually apply mehendi on their hands a day before and observe the fast on the main day with pure devotion to Gods like Karwa Mata/Goddess Parvati, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya.

We wish you a blessed Karwa Chauth 2020!
